Buyer Beware...HP's last less than 2 years

Reviewed by Keith J. Walker Sr., 2010-03-17

Buyer beware. Yes they do look shiny and nice. Yes the specs look very impressive. Awesome price too. But the build quality is complete garbage. My well cared for 1.5 yr old HP laptop has died because it runs way to hot and eventually the motherboard got fried. This is a known issue in many models. Don't trust any. No support from HP. "Total Care" ya right. Don't take my word for it, do as the other people have posted..Google HP problems and you'll see. Also check out their HP community support page laptops then hardware section and see all the happy customers there too. Don't make the same mistake I did. Buy some other brand.

HP PRODUCTS BEWARE -- A MUST READ

Yeah I am sure all the new HP laptops look and work GREAT, so did mine 2 years ago BUT is less than 2 years on the market a good sign? If you are considering an HP you better read these links first - don't get stuck in our position 2 years from now! Also just Google HP laptops lately - NOT GOOD.

I was a faithful HP customer until now. We bought a dv6000 in July 2007 from Circuit City and thank God we bought the protection plan plus also. This laptop has been in for repair 3 times since last summer and all the same problems described in the Kioskea posts. Having the plan is great BUT the repair people and the warranty people don't communicate with each other, probably because the techs are American and the warranty people farm their telecommunications to scripted robots in India??? HP should have stepped up to the plate and RECALLED this batch of laptops rather than wait until people get stuck with unworkable products! If this next repair does not fix the problem, Apple here I come.

Love It!!

My husband and I each have one of these computers and we liked them so much that we just purchased two more for the kids.

Great laptop for home use

I bought this laptop for use at home(financial tracking, homework report preparation, and entertainment). It fills all those roles very well. It has all the features I was looking for, along with some I hadn't thought of but really enjoy.

Great PC.

This PC is great! Quick start up, wakes up from sleep mode in a flash, and does almost everything I have asked it to do and then some. An excellent buy for the cost!
